Blue-eyed, Fair and Stocky - A Sowman family history
My copy of Blue-eyed, Fair and Stocky arrived in the post from New Zealand yesterday. I spent many hours yesterday poring over the incredible amount of detail that it contains and I'm sure there are many more hours of pleasure to come.
Some News
A couple of pieces of news for you.
Firstly, you'll be glad to know that we're making progress on getting the site back together. There's a link to the tree in the footer that you'll find at the bottom of the page. The tree isn't quite as pretty as we'd like it to be, but we're working on improving that.
Secondly (and far more importantly) we've got some important news from New Zealand. Robert J. Sowman and Peter E. Sowman are descendents of William and Sarah Sowman who left Suffolk for New Zealand in 1851. Robert and Peter have traced all known descendents of William and Sarah and have written a book about the family. The book is entitled Blue-eyed, Fair and Stocky and it is about to be published. More details about the book (and information on how to order your copy) are in the flyer which you can download from here. I'm certainly looking forward to getting my hands on a copy.
